Chatty Tuesday : A little encouragement

Happy Cinco de Mayo all!

So today, as I was sitting in my cubicle at work, one of my co-workers shouted out "think how good I would look if I just ate right and took care of myself." Now I have no idea why this statement was made, but it got me thinking. Seriously, think how good we would all look/feel if we just did what we all know we are supposed to do.

This has been something I have been thinking about a lot lately as I'm training for my upcoming race in September. Everyday I tell myself I need to hop on that spin bike and do some reps, yet everyday I go home, go upstairs and watch television in bed. "Tomorrow," I tell myself, "tomorrow I'll start my spin workout and start getting serious." Well I hate to give myself a reality check but September is fast approaching so I need to start telling myself TODAY!

I feel like this is something we all struggle with in some aspect or another, whether it's losing some weight, eating healthier to feel better, becoming a better athlete, or even learning more patience and not letting rush hour get us angry. We all know what we need to do, just none of us want to do it. Because it takes a lot of work, and some serious dedication.

So today I wanted to give us all a little encouragement and say let's start TODAY. Get in a quick 15 minute work out, listen to that meditation video you've been meaning to get to on your commute home, choose that salad for lunch instead of a greasy hamburger. Little changes can add up to bigger and bigger ones as we do more and more each day. And it's okay to mess up, we're only human. Don't let that ruin the rest of your day or month, just keep at it.

As for me, tonight I WILL be getting on that spin bike.
