The Perfect Palette Tag

It's been a while since I've done a tag and you know I love a good beauty one...especially since this one has to do with palettes--one of my most beloved makeup items ever.

1. Best packaging : This is hands down the Balm...they do the cutest packaging EVER!

I know this isn't technically a palette...but...still, you get the idea

2. Best color payoff : This one is hard because so many brands are killing it in the pigmentation department these days but I'm going with my Coastal Scents eye and blush palette. Every time I use it I marvel at how deep and rich the colors transfer...it's so good!

3. Most versatile : My Lorac Pink Champagne palette is probably my most versatile product. I can do brows, eyes, cheeks, and highlight all out of one palette and the colors are super gorgeous with a mix of shimmery and matte.

4. Best for travelling : I'm going to consider travelling to be commuting as well because I often take my makeup with me everywhere I go since I am gone long, long days. So in my case, my perfect palette for travelling is the Makeup Revolution Dissapear to the Beyond palette, it's super sleek and small, doesn't take up much room but has enough colors to take me from day to night.

5. Biggest Regret : Sad to say it's the MR Pink Chocolate palette...the colors are beautiful and honestly this would be my ideal palette if the pigmentation wasn't so awful. None of MR other chocolate palettes are like this so I'm not sure if I just got a dud but I can't bring myself to purchase another one is case it is just this bad.

6: Best Color Names : This is ahard one, there are so many amazing color names out there...I'm going to have to go with another MR palette, the Stripped & Bare palette. I didn't even notice the risque names at first but the names are pretty funny once you notice the theme.

7: Least Used: I love the Balms Nude Tude palette but honestly I never reach for it. I really should just pass it on but that damn cute packaging gets me every time and I tell myself I really will use it more...

8: Most Used, Most Loved, Desert Island Palette: Definitely the I Heart Makeup Naked Chocolate Palette. It's a nude palette with a twist and I literally use a color everyday from it. It's definitely my ride or die.

That's it, those are the best (and worst) of my palettes! Which palette is your favorite from your collection? XO

*Remember if you do this tag to leave a link in the comments so I can check it out!

Ella Hand Cream Collection

One of my favorite beauty splurges is on hand cream. Even though it's a necessity, hand cream can be so luxurious and I can never resist gorgeous packaging. When I saw this Ella Hand Cream Collection with scents like Ginger Lychee and Vanilla Mint I knew I had to have it. These hand creams contain shea butter which makes them extra moisturizing. They come in .8 fl oz tubes so they're perfect for on the go but at $10 for 8 tubes it's a steal. I found this collection at my local Ross so if you're still looking for that perfect mother's day gift head over quick and see if it's still available!

Have you guys ever tried anything from the Ella collection? What's your favorite hand cream? I hope everyone's having a great week so far! XO

Weekend Recap: First Ride of the Season

"Strength is pushing yourself to the end of your limits...and then going a little further." I had a yoga instructor tell me that once, and I often think of that statement when I find myself facing a tough physical challenge. This was our first bike ride of the season and it was the longest one we've ever ridden. I'll admit right now that we hadn't trained at all. Basically I'm still in couch potato mode and this ride snuck up on me really quickly. Needless to say, we finished the entire 65 mile ride, despite the fact that it was raining, I wrecked 11 miles in and we had more headwind then I've ever encountered in my entire life.

I am so thankful to the amazing, supportive people in my life! To our amazing best friend Liz who dropped us off at the starting line, my wonderful best friend Sash who drove all the way to Ogden to get pictures of us finishing, to my family who covered for me at the coffee shop so I could do the ride and to my partner in crime and the best, most supportive riding partner a girl could have, my amazing hubby who rode all 65 miles with me and helped push me those last few miles. It was a great weekend and hopefully the start of a lot of rides this season. I hope everyone had an amazing weekend as well! XO

Jasmine La Belle

If you know me by now, you know that the majority of my purchases are based on pure aesthetic value. Not really practical, but hey, it's how I choose to spend my money. Not only do I love the packaging on this Jasmine La Belle lipstick set...but that name! That name sounds like it belongs on a marquee. I've never tried any products from this brand before but I was pleasantly surprised at how creamy and pigmented the lipsticks were. They weren't super duper long lasting, but for the price, they were a great purchase (says the girl who has a million lipsticks and does not need even one more).

I purchased this set pretty recently at Ross for about $10 (possibly less) so if it's something your interested I'd definitely see if your local store has this it. The packaging is so beautiful and the colors are seriously gorgeous -- money well spent if you ask me! Happy Tuesday friends XO

Making a Statement

I love a good statement earring...I dare say even more so than a statement necklace. This outfit all started with a pair of earrings. I purchased this pair of earrings from Forever 21 quite some time ago and this outfit just kind of evolved around it. All the pretty pink and blue pastels of the season are so fun and bright, as soon as the sun started shining again I had to pull them all out and put it all together in an outfit.

These are the earrings that started it all. The blue and pink tones are so perfect for this time of year.

Since this was quite a whimsical outfit, I wore my Kate Spade-esque glasses ring. This particular ring came from Jewelmint.

Top: Forever 21
Pants: Forever 21

Hope it's a happy, sunshiny Monday for everyone! XO

Makeup Revolution Stripped and Bare Palette

Yep, another Makeup Revolution Palette. I just can't help myself. You guys already know this, I don't need to explain myself, you feel me! What drew me to this palette was the 3 looks in 1, which seemed to dupe several high end brands who have similar palettes.

So I didn't realize what the actual names of the shadows were until I sat down to take these pics. Then all the sudden the name of the palette, "Stripped & Bare" made a lot more sense. Aside from the cheeky little names of this palette, the pigmentation is amazing, the colors and quality of the palette beautiful. That being said, I really did not need this palette and would probably not repurchase if I had the chance. I find a lot of the colors already exist in other Makeup Revolution palettes I own and I don't find myself reaching for it all that much. I do think this is a nice travel palette or perfect for beginners and of course the quality for price can't be beat. Have you used any of the palettes in this series? XO
