Favorite Current Nail Combo

Right now I'm loving brighter dark colors. I know, that doesn't seem like it makes sense, but I'm talking jewel toned pastels, rather than neon's or even straight up pastels. I like brighter colors for the summer but I still like colors that are a little darker for my skin tone. This is my favorite nail combo at the moment:

Sorry about the awkward hand position, it was the only clear shot I could get of my nails to show you the color...

This periwinkle blue by Julep is in the shade Isabela and I feel like it is the perfect warm weather color. I love that it's still quite a bright shade but not a total pastel.

I love to do an accent nail and this glitter polish by NYC is in the shade Starry Silver Glitter. It is the prettiest silver with bits of blue in it and I'm loving it right now.

Tell me what colors you're loving at the moment!

Weekend Movie Date : 2 for 1

This weekend I dug out my birthday coupons and had my hubby take me to the drive-in. I am a HUGE drive-in lover. You basically get 2 for the price of 1, you can bring in all the food you want and if you're like us, you load the back of your truck with blankets and pillows and essentially your watching a movie in bed but outside. Pretty much the perfect movie experience if you ask me. We saw Spy which was so hilarious (total Melissa McCarthy fan girl right here!) and Poltergeist. To be honest, I don't really remember the original Poltergeist, and although they did a good job on the remake, it definitely wasn't as scary as I remember it being when I was younger. Even my hubby, who hates scary movies, said it wasn't very scary.

I wore the Motel Rocks Tiara babydoll dress in sun, moon, stars print. You can find it here. No one does a babydoll dress like Motel Rocks. Sandals are a few years old from Betsey Johnson.

I love the back of the dress, it ties all the way down the back, I just have a sunflower printed bandeau underneath.

What did you guys do this weekend? I hope it was a good one!!!

Stress Less Sunday : Sore muscle relief

Since I've been working out more lately my muscles have been super sore lately. This translates into more baths for me. I love Epsom salt for sore muscles and usually I use a lavender scented one to relax. The last time I bought Epsom salts I decided to try something different and I noticed these Chamomile scented ones for comfort and calm. Even though I do like this one I have to admit I still like the lavender ones better.

Before I work out I always wipe off my makeup with a makeup remover wipe but with all the sweating (ew, I know, I'm sorry) my pores still get clogged and my skin hasn't been feeling or looking that great lately. I love this Queen Helene Avocado and Grapefruit Mask which rejuvenates and revitalizes because I instantly see results. It's also super affordable; I picked mine up at Sally's for around $3.

What are you loving for relaxation this week?

Mini Makeup Revolution Haul

I have recently become obsessed with Makeup Revolution and would probably own ALL their products, however, since they are a U.K. based company and I live in the U.S. it's not really convenient. There are a few products that I just had to have and they are a pretty reasonably priced company (even with international shipping) so I thought I'd show you what I purchased.

Everything I purchased this order was from the I Heart Makeup line. All the packaging is very kitschy and cute and I can never resist cute packaging.

The eyeshadow palette I purchased was the Naked Chocolate palette. The original chocolate palette (I Heart Chocolate) is supposedly a dupe for Too Faced's Chocolate Bar Palette, but these palettes run at $11.97 each in U.S. dollars. There's also a 3rd palette in the collection called Death by Chocolate. I've heard tons of good things about Makeup Revolution's eyeshadow palettes so I'm super excited to use this.

From Left: Racing Heart, Heart is Pumping
I tried to swatch these lipsticks for you but they came off super sheer on my hand, with the pink one not even visible. I had just applied lotion so I hope that was the reason behind that. I don't mind sheer lipsticks, but I don't like lipsticks that appear like a clear gloss. I'll have to try these out and get back to you on them, but I love the adorable heart shape. These were $3.73 each.

This is probably my favorite purchase of the bunch. I LOVE this bronzer trio. It's in the shade Hot Summer of Love and it is the prettiest bronzer I've seen. The top left is a golden shade, the middle is a rosey gold and the bottom is a deep copper bronze color. This is so perfect for summer. This is listed under the Blushing Hearts collection and was $7.48.

I'll definitely keep you updated on these products and will talk about them more in a future favorites if I really like them.

Have you guys tried any Makeup Revolution products? If so, which are your favorite?

Weekly Roundup : Friday Faves #6

I thought I'd switch it up between weekly fashion roundups and product roundups based on how much I'm loving in a week or just generally what I feel like doing. Here's what I've been loving this week!

This foundation serum from e.l.f. is a fairly new product and I have been loving it as the weather gets hotter. I have mine in the shade light and the formula on this is awesome. It's lighter then a tinted moisturizer but still gives some coverage. It evens out my skin tone and it also has SPF 25 which is great for this time of year.

I'm clearly a huge fan of Argan Oil products and this one is no different. It's a 3 minute hair mask which restores and strengthens and it smells so so good! The best part is I got this from the dollar tree so it was a steal. I liked it so much I went back and bought 4 (which was all they had left) and I'm glad I did because I haven't seen them since.

I received this lip conditioning treatment in my Julep box. I had received a previous one before but really didn't like it because it was a chunky glitter shade. When I got this one I was ecstatic because the color is so pretty. It's in the shade blushing rose and the metal applicator tip makes it cooling on the lips which is so nice this time of year.

My mom gave me this sample size Lancome mascara, it's the Hypnose Drama version and it is definitely dramatic. This makes my lashes super dark and thick and I love the curved wand. As soon as I used it I went online and bought the full sized version because this stuff is so good.

I bought these glasses a year or so ago from Forever 21 and I still love them. They are super fun and even though they are heart shaped they're still subtle because of the color and print which I like.

Tell me what you guys are loving this week!

Summer Staple : Coconut Lime Body Butter

Even though I suffer from dry skin year round, I just can't bring myself to slather on a thick cream in the warm months. I just feel like it gets super oily and greasy and realistically what happens is I just won't use it. This body butter by Tree Hut is the perfect balance between hydrating but light. It still gives the moisture a body butter would but in a much lighter formula. It absorbs fairly quickly and the smell is so fresh, it's amazing on a hot summer day. The only downside? It does feel a little sticky so if that's something you have issues with I give you fair warning now. I've tried lots of other scents from this brand but I come back to this one every time because it's that good. It contains certified organic Shea Butter and coconut and lime extracts so it makes your skin feel super soft and healthy.

Have you guys ever tried any Tree Hut products? What's your favorite summer moisturizers?

Bloggers are the nicest...and other musings

Bloggers are really the nicest community of people ever. This is something I have been thinking a lot about recently as I've been noticing so many beautiful comments from people, not only on my blog but also on most of the blogs I read. The bloggers I've "met" are seriously some of the sweetest, nicest, most genuine people and I am eternally grateful to have started this adventure and gotten to read so many kind words.

That leads me to something else I've been thinking a lot about lately and that's following your dreams. This really has been the theme of the year for my husband and I. I started a blog which has been something I've thought about for years and I couldn't be happier with it. It's been such a blessing for me to be able to write and the fact that people responded positively was a plus! My husband took the leap and got his license to be a Real Estate Agent. He's always had a love for Real Estate and we've been investors for many years now (I say "we" very loosely, my hubby does most of the work). Later this year he is leaving his job to do what he loves and I couldn't be more proud of him. It's hard and even downright scary to follow your dreams, but I truly believe if you love what you do it will always lead you to brighter roads.

I've been watching a lot of videos and reading a lot of books lately on being grateful. I feel like in today's world it's so easy to loose sight of what's important or to take for granted all the comforts we are so fortunate to have. For example, I was stewing to myself the other day because I have food all over my counters because my pantry isn't big enough to hold all of it. Talk about a first world problem. It's ridiculous. I had to stop and remind myself that I should be grateful to even have the means to have all that food. And that maybe we really didn't even need it all and I really need to make a trip over to a food bank. It's important for us all to remind ourselves to be grateful and to give back where we can. None of us are perfect but it's always good to stop and remind ourselves of all we have to be thankful for.

I've also been trying to learn to be nicer to myself lately. I watched a great TedTalks by Brene Brown about vulnerability and accepting ourselves for who we are. We all have faults and it's important to be kind to ourselves. We can be our own worst critics and when we do nothing but put ourselves down, it's hard for us to accomplish anything. So it's okay that I have an extra 10 pounds going into swim suit season, I'm still gonna wear that two-piece proudly!

I hope everyone is enjoying their week and having a great start to their summer! Let me know what you've been thinking about lately.
