Bedside Table Beauty

As a girl who has a sometimes unhealthy addiction to all things relating to beauty, I thought it might be fun to share the things I keep on my bedside table. These I like to refer to as my "finishing up" products, basically things I use every night before I go to sleep but like the luxury of doing in bed as opposed to in the bathroom.

The lip protectors : It's not unusual for me to have a number of the same types of products in use at the same time. I love the Nivea lip butter in Raspberry Rose Kiss but when I don't feel like dipping my finger into a pot (because when you're really tired, that can be a lot of work) I use the Smith's Strawberry lip balm which is really nice and moisturizing.

The cuticle softeners : Again, two products that essentially do the same thing. I love the Burt's Bees Lemon Butter cuticle cream, it's really my favorite, but it does get my nails quite greasy. When I still plan on using my hands (like if I'm going to read before I put them away) I like to use the European Secret's Hoofer's Choice nail and cuticle cream. Sounds really strange and it smells kind of medicinal, but it's a nice cream that really works.

The finishing creams : I always have to to put on a hand cream before bed. This one I mentioned in a post a couple weeks ago so it should come as no surprise it's made it into my bedside rotation. This mint pedi cream by Julep is so nice for keeping the feet soft and moisturized, especially this time of year when I'm wearing comfy socks to bed anyways.

The randoms : I always have antibacterial handgel everywhere and my bedside table is no exception. It comes in handy more often then you'd think! I also love a good hair oil and this Clear nourishing scalp and hair oil is perfect since it isn't too greasy. I just put a little bit on my hands and run through my ends every night and my hair feels really nice and soft in the morning.

The no fun but a necessity : My matte navy glasses by Third Culture aren't much fun, but as I usually read before bedtime they are a must.

Being the naturally nosey person that I am I love to see what other people have stored on their bedside table. Let me know what you keep close by in the comments!

  1. What a cute idea for a post Kim!! I have a few goodies by my bedside as well like peppermint foot cream, argon oil hand cream, and Carmex. I don't feel right if I don't go to bed without these items. I hope your day is going great so far my beautiful friend!!

    1. Argan oil hand cream? Um, that sounds amazing, I'm tracking that down! I know, isn't it funny how we become so accustomed to what we "need" before bed? I even travel with my bedside table contents hahaha. I hope your doing great my sweet friend, hugs to you! XO -Kim

  2. My bedside table looks like a jumble sale hehe so have some points for neatness ;) I really need to start using lip balms more now were getting into winter and I've been desperately trying ( and failing ) too look after my hands and nails better so I'm going to pick up some of these products this week :) I love reading before bed so ussually I have a book on my table but recently I've starting cross stitching my christmas cards so I'm using the time before bed to do that ! It's so theraputic, I'm thinking about carrying on doing it after Christmas !

    1. Hahahaha, well, I kind of picked around all the trash and empty cups on my bedside table to only pull out my beauty bits. I probably should have included the moutain of bobby pins I have stacked on my bedside table since I'm too lazy after a long day to go put them in their proper place! I don't care for my hands as much as I'd like, that's why I love to slather them up right before a good sleep! I am so jealous! I wish I could cross stitch but I swear I have two left thems. I've been trying to learn how to do something creative like that for years. Are your cross stitching Christmas cards? Bless you, you are such a sweetheart! XO-Kim

    2. Hehe I end up with tonnes of bobby pins in the shower because I forget I have them in until I'm desperately trying to untangle them from shampoo covered hair ! I've never done much cross stitching but I really want to give it a go and yeah they're for little Christmas cards, the one I'm doing at the minute is a little cat by the fire place :)

    1. The tumblers are such a great idea! I always wake up thirsty but just go straight to coffee, it would be so good to keep water by my bed! Thanks so much for stopping in gorgeous! XO -Kim

  4. I should probably keep moisturizer beside my bed because I am suffering from dry skin from the "cooler" weather here in the last week or so. I am with you on the glasses, they are always on my nightstand because I usually read or watch TV before going to bed. Your glasses are really cute! I hope you have a great rest of the week Kim!

    1. Awww, Katie, you are such a sweetheart! Oh my gosh, it drives me nuts, my face is a complete oil factory but the rest of my body is so so so stinking dry! I have to moisturize right before bed just to have normal hands and feet hahaha. Thanks for stopping in beautiful friend, hope you have a great rest of the week! XO -Kim

  5. Such a good idea having all of these next to your bed, especially as the winter means much drier skin. The burts bees cuticle cream is something I've always wanted but never bought xx

  8. Omg chums the noseyness runs in both of veins so this post is absolute GENIUS! I am imagining you doing your nightly beauty routine and Sloane on his laptop scrolling facebook or looking at houses!
The burts bees cuticle cream is at my bedside too! The greasy factor is super bothersome for me tho so I need to try the secret hoofers one.
I never even THOUGHT about keeping hair oil at my beside. So smart! I will have to do that since I too am a completely dry wasteland in these winter months!
    Love You Chums!

    1. You know us wayyyy too well Sash! You totally nailed it when you described what Sloane and I do every night LMAO! The Secret Hoofers one is from Sally's for like $3, it's so cheap and I swear you can get a big ol' tub for like $5. I'd get the big tub, I just wasn't sure at the time if I would like it but I really do and even the little one has lasted me a couple years now and it's only half way done! I have to put oil on my ends because you know how much I've fried my hair so it's really good for it! Love you my gorgeous friend, you are the best! XO (I'm not going to sign my name because that's weird since you know me IRL LMAO)
