Salt To Saint 2015

Last week we rode Salt to Saint which is a 426 mile bike race. We did an 8 man relay team so each of us ended up riding roughly 50 to 60 miles. I think everyone on the team agreed that the toughest part of the race was staying up for 28 hours straight. When my husband asked me if I would ride the race again I gave him a resounding NO! However, after I got some decent sleep and a real meal, I can honestly say it was a fun experience and I feel a huge sense of accomplishment for actually finishing all my legs (no stopping and tapping out)! I'm not saying that I would do it again exactly, I'm just saying I'm open to maybe riding next year. That is, provided we figure out the sleeping situation!

The starting line, before we knew what we were getting into... #Coastbusters

Me and my gorgeous teammate and one of my best friends. Right before my very first leg, I was a nervous wreck!

Starting my first leg, I look so excited because I had so much nervous energy I was ready to go

I love these pictures of me and the hubby with our friend and teammate Nicole. Nicole fractured her hip a few weeks after committing to ride with us while training for a marathon (she's a machine!) 3 weeks before the race she was still on crutches! She showed up and rode all her legs like a champ. The determination and strength of this amazing woman played a huge part in the morale of our team.

I love this picture of my husband!

I don't think a picture could better describe how I felt after my last leg more than this one.

Our medals

This was such a fun and worthwhile experience. My team finished 99 out of 120 of the 8 man teams. We finished in 28 hours (we had 36). I am so extremely proud and very lucky to have rode with such awesome, amazing, athletic people.

Have you ever done a marathon, relay or otherwise?
