Our engagement photos were taken by the talented Jennifer, otherwise know as "cousin Jenny". I'm incredibly fortunate to have married into such an awesome family, and Jenny is so much more like a sister to me than a cousin. Since my own family lives all over the world I was never super close to them, which makes having family close to us all that more special. We got a million awesome photos that day and it was so much fun to have someone we knew and were comfortable with taking our photos. These were the ones we used for our engagement announcement.
Our actual wedding was at the Justice of the Peace. Since neither Sloane nor I belong to an organized religion this was what worked best for us. It also meant we only had close friends and family there and that made the day all the more special for us. If I had to do it all over again, I'd do it the exact same!
We took some photos after the wedding and this one has always been my favorite! Love all the love from our family and friends on this day.
For those of you wondering why my hubby wore sunglasses in the majority of our photos, it's because he has incredibly sensitive eyes and it was either that or every picture of him with his eyes closed.
Cousin Jenny who also did us the honor of giving our wedding toast. Love this girl so much!
Our cake was amazing. It was made by a local bakery called One Sweet Slice. The ladies were even on Cupcake Wars and won! Unfortunately, since our wedding their shops have closed as they wanted to focus on their families but I am so grateful we were able to use their amazing talent to make our cake!
Instead of having a signature book we decided to use photos where people could write their well wishes. We had them framed and now we get to see all the love from our family and friends every day!
I owe all the decorations for our reception 100% to my amazing mother. I am terrible when it comes to the little details and I'm lucky my mother took over and took care of all of it for me! We opted to have a big party style reception where we had a buffet, open bar and tons of music!
As party favors we chose these cute little carriage boxes and filled them with candy. Since my hubby proposed on a carriage ride we thought this was a nice little intimate touch to our big day.
I am fortunate to have been married to my best friend for 4 amazing years! I love looking back at our special day and I hope you guys enjoyed my wedding edition of Friday favorites! I could have filled a thousand pages with all the lovely photos but I knew I had to limit myself. Have a wonderful weekend everybody! XO
