Trying something new

Now it may not seem like it, but when I buy makeup I truly think about what it is I'm buying. No, I never think do I need this (clearly) but I do think about how often I will use it and if it is something I would truly love, as opposed to the latest beauty craze. Throwing all that completely out the window I decided to buy bulk beauty products off of Ebay. This is completely random, I know. All I can say is it was pretty fun to purchase products without really knowing what I was going to get. That really doesn't sound fun at all, but there was some info on types and brands of products so I had at least a little bit of an idea of what I was paying for. Also, it was a great deal as I got a lot of name brand products for a fraction of the price. I've featured a few of my favorite bits here although truth be told I liked everything except maybe one or two items which I'll pass on to friends.

I love Milani bronzers, I already have one, but this was a different shade from the one I use. This one is in Radiant and is a gorgeous golden color that works great on my skin tone for an all-over bronze.

This B.Vain Blush and Highlighter in Wink is so pretty and natural and since I love blush so much I was excited to see this in my package. I've never used any B.Vain products and am not sure where to even get them so this was a fun surprise.

You know I am a fan of lip products so I was excited with how many lipsticks I received (this wasn't all of them) and I loved the range of colors I was sent. The left is NYX's Haute Melon, followed by Wet n' Wilds Cinnamon and Cashmere. Cashmere is the prettiest cool toned silvery purple color. It's something I would never pick out for myself, but it is gorgeous. Lastly, I was completely surprised at how much I liked this Milani Lip Mixer gloss in Lip Stir. It's the prettiest golden peachy shade and as far as lip glosses go it's not sticky at all.

I'm happy I decided to (rather randomly) purchase makeup this way. It was more cost effective and I got a lot of great stuff! Have you ever made a purchase like this and if so, was it a good experience?

Oops...I did it again

Yep, I did it again, I went and bought another eyeshadow palette. The thing about Makeup Revolution is, since I have to pay one flat rate international shipping fee no matter how much or how little I buy, I tend to get mostly everything I want. That being said, a lot of what I want are their palettes. They honestly have the best quality palettes for the price, and this current one I got for a very specific reason. It is super flat and sleek so it is absolutely perfect for traveling.

This palette is called Disappear to the beyond and it's labeled as an Awesome eyeshadow and eyebrow palette. You know I love a mult-purpose product so that alone peaked my interest. I could definitely see using the first 3 colors on the top (left) row for brows. The other thing I love about Makeup Revolution eyeshadows are how buttery they are; because they blend out so well I love to use the shimmery shades as highlights and they work amazingly as such! Aside from all that, if I'm being completely honest, I essentially bought this palette just for the beautiful blue and maroon colored shadows featured on the left column of the palette. Please tell me I'm not the only person who does this...
This palette ended up being $6.26 USD and for 12 highly pigmented, buttery shadows I'd say that's a pretty good deal. This will fit perfectly tucked into the side pocket of my purse as it's smaller than my phone. You can purchase the palette here if you wish.

Let me know what shadow palettes you guys are loving right now (not that I even need to look at shadow palettes anytime soon!) I hope everyone's having a very happy week so far!

Date Night Outfit - Cute and Comfy

There is nothing I like better than a romantic blouse. The cut, the fit - it's just super easy and cute with a pair of jeans and booties. It's pretty much my go-to outfit when I want to be comfy but still look put together.

I love the fluttery sleeves and the swiss dot print of the blouse, it's so pretty and girly. The color is a perfect transition into fall as it's more muted and with a cardigan thrown over this outfit, I can definitely wear it when the weather cools down. My blouse is from Ross but you can find a similar style here.

These are some of my favorite booties. The color, the buckle and the heel are all the perfect combo and I can wear these with pretty much anything. Similar style boot here.

I love this chunky bracelet from Jewelmint, it's such a fun statement piece. Similar style here.

Tell me what your favorite cute and comfy outfit is right now!

Weekly Roundup : Friday Faves #11

Woo-hoo, it's Friday! This month is flying by, I can't believe it's the end of the week already! I'm not going to lie, I'm pushing full ahead into Fall as can be seen by my favorites this week!

Might as well start out with my favorite of the faves, this Milani blush in Berry Amore. It's essentially the perfect blush to transition from Summer into Fall. I don't care that we still have warm days ahead of us, I'm all for Fall and I'm starting early this year!

These e.l.f. all over color sticks in the shades (from left) Lilac Petal and Golden Peach are gorgeous highlights, cream blushes, whatever you want really! I've been using both alternately as highlights and they give a beautiful glow to the cheeks. For only $1, how can you argue buying the whole collection?

I am all over berry colors right now and these two are my favorite! The Colourpop shadow in shade Drift is literally the perfect cranberry color. The e.l.f. baked shadow in Burnt Plum is a recent purchase, as I've literally had to track it down since it seems to always be sold out on their website. It's a shimmery plum color that is absolutely gorgeous, especially when paired with Drift.

I am a huge fan of Burt's Bees lip balms and this tinted one in Hibiscus is everything I could want in a balm. It's 100% natural, soothes lips AND gives a slight wash of color. What more could you want?

Finally, something I rarely talk about, my favorite brushes. e.l.f. make some of the best, most affordable face brushes and the two above are some of my most loved and most used. The e.l.f. Slanted Kabuki Brush literally makes blending anything out super easy. I have a slight problem with overdoing it on the blush front so this brush is perfect for blending out all that color, helping me avoid looking clown-like (thank goodness!) The e.l.f. Small Tapered Brush is perfect for highlight and makes applying it super easy and quick.

These are all the things I'm loving this week, let me know in the comments what's on your favorites! Happy weekend everybody!

Current Favorite Lip : The Vampy Red

I have about a billion reds in my collection; some are fire engine red, some lighter, some darker, but one thing I can never get enough of is the vampy red. I love a deep dark burgundy red on the lips, it's just the right amount of sultry and mysterious. If you know me by now, then you know I have way more of this color than I should, but I've managed to narrow down my 3 favorites of the moment.

This lipstick is one of my favorites and it's only $1. It's an LA Colors lipstick in the shade Luscious Wine and the formula is super creamy. It isn't as long wearing as some of my other reds, but I've never been one to complain about touching up my lipstick.

This is my all time favorite vampy red color (at least right now!). It's a Wet n' Wild lipstick in the shade Dark Wine so it's super affordable and you can find it at pretty much any drugstore. The formula is super creamy but really pigmented so it wears really well.

This one almost got missed, but I saw it in the bottom of my handbag at the last minute. If we're talking vampy reds I have to mention Kate's lipstick in 107. It's a deep dark burgundy color, perfect for fall/winter and super holiday appropriate.

Lastly, I'm pairing all my favorite dark reds with this NYX lip pencil in the shade Auburn. I am a huge fan of NYX lip pencils as they are super long-wearing and super affordable. NYX also has a super wide range of colors which makes it easy to find a color to pair with my vast range of lipsticks.

Let me know what some of your favorite vampy red lipsticks are in the comments below!

Emergency handbag essentials

I'm one of those people who likes to have everything on hand at all times, which means my purse (or black hole, as it's jokingly referred to) weighs pretty close to a small child. I've tried to tone things down recently as I've started carrying smaller bags to bring only the necessities with me. These are the things I consider my essentials.

I keep all my products in an Ipsy bag so I can easily move it from one purse to another and nothing gets lost. It's a simple way to keep everything I need all in one place.

Lip products: As a girl who loves her lipstick I always keep what I consider to be a neutral shade on hand in case I forget to put lipstick on that day or I've managed to misplace the one I've brought. I also always keep a chapstick on hand; currently I've been using the Alba Botanics lip balm in coconut cream and it's really good!

Hand products: I always have an antibacterial gel with me and this one is in Sunshine and Lemons, the perfect scent for summer. The hand cream I'm carrying is a Supergoop one with Sea Buckthorn and SPF 40. It's not my favorite, but it's a convenient size and easy to throw on after I wash my hands.

Beauty tools: I love this retractable elf kabuki brush, it makes touching up my powder super easy and mess free. I always have a set of spare tweezers on me and it's come in handy on many occasions. The elf shine eraser papers are a must for me as I am ridiculously oily. These work as well as any other blotting papers I've used and they're only $1.

Miscellaneous: I love the tear out nail files in this little pack, I am always breaking a nail and snagging it on everything so these are super handy. The Kleenex is self-explanatory and a total lifesaver, the same can be said for the bobby pins. My sensory therapy on-the-spot relief oil in mint is one of my favorite products. If I ever have a headache I massage a little onto my temples and the back of my neck and I feel instant relief, it's sooo good. Lastly, who doesn't always need to have a pen handy?

That's everything I consider to be my handbag essentials. Tell me what's a must-carry in your bag!

e.l.f. Studio 50 Piece Makeup Artist Palette

Yes, I have another blush palette to talk about this week. Besides being super affordable, this palette includes 5 blush shades, 5 contour shades, and a whole slew of eye shadows underneath it all. Those, however, are for another day as I'm here to talk all things blush (because it's my favorite). Lately I've been reaching for this palette at it has everything I need all in one.

Personally, I use the bottom end shade as a blush as it blends out into a pretty rose color, but regardless, all these shades are super pigmented and super gorgeous! Right now you can purchase it here on e.l.f.'s website for only $15! No, I'm not sponsored, I just truly love this palette and think anyone else who loves blush as much as I do will too!

As always, leave me comments on what blushes you've been loving!
