Weekend Recap: First Ride of the Season

"Strength is pushing yourself to the end of your limits...and then going a little further." I had a yoga instructor tell me that once, and I often think of that statement when I find myself facing a tough physical challenge. This was our first bike ride of the season and it was the longest one we've ever ridden. I'll admit right now that we hadn't trained at all. Basically I'm still in couch potato mode and this ride snuck up on me really quickly. Needless to say, we finished the entire 65 mile ride, despite the fact that it was raining, I wrecked 11 miles in and we had more headwind then I've ever encountered in my entire life.

I am so thankful to the amazing, supportive people in my life! To our amazing best friend Liz who dropped us off at the starting line, my wonderful best friend Sash who drove all the way to Ogden to get pictures of us finishing, to my family who covered for me at the coffee shop so I could do the ride and to my partner in crime and the best, most supportive riding partner a girl could have, my amazing hubby who rode all 65 miles with me and helped push me those last few miles. It was a great weekend and hopefully the start of a lot of rides this season. I hope everyone had an amazing weekend as well! XO

Jasmine La Belle

If you know me by now, you know that the majority of my purchases are based on pure aesthetic value. Not really practical, but hey, it's how I choose to spend my money. Not only do I love the packaging on this Jasmine La Belle lipstick set...but that name! That name sounds like it belongs on a marquee. I've never tried any products from this brand before but I was pleasantly surprised at how creamy and pigmented the lipsticks were. They weren't super duper long lasting, but for the price, they were a great purchase (says the girl who has a million lipsticks and does not need even one more).

I purchased this set pretty recently at Ross for about $10 (possibly less) so if it's something your interested I'd definitely see if your local store has this it. The packaging is so beautiful and the colors are seriously gorgeous -- money well spent if you ask me! Happy Tuesday friends XO

Making a Statement

I love a good statement earring...I dare say even more so than a statement necklace. This outfit all started with a pair of earrings. I purchased this pair of earrings from Forever 21 quite some time ago and this outfit just kind of evolved around it. All the pretty pink and blue pastels of the season are so fun and bright, as soon as the sun started shining again I had to pull them all out and put it all together in an outfit.

These are the earrings that started it all. The blue and pink tones are so perfect for this time of year.

Since this was quite a whimsical outfit, I wore my Kate Spade-esque glasses ring. This particular ring came from Jewelmint.

Makeup Revolution Stripped and Bare Palette

Yep, another Makeup Revolution Palette. I just can't help myself. You guys already know this, I don't need to explain myself, you feel me! What drew me to this palette was the 3 looks in 1, which seemed to dupe several high end brands who have similar palettes.

So I didn't realize what the actual names of the shadows were until I sat down to take these pics. Then all the sudden the name of the palette, "Stripped & Bare" made a lot more sense. Aside from the cheeky little names of this palette, the pigmentation is amazing, the colors and quality of the palette beautiful. That being said, I really did not need this palette and would probably not repurchase if I had the chance. I find a lot of the colors already exist in other Makeup Revolution palettes I own and I don't find myself reaching for it all that much. I do think this is a nice travel palette or perfect for beginners and of course the quality for price can't be beat. Have you used any of the palettes in this series? XO

All in the Details

Happy Monday everyone! Today I bring you an outfit that's a go-to for me: Moto style jeggings, an easy button down shirt and some leopard accessories. As you know I love a good neutral outfit and it doesn't get more basic than an oversized button down shirt and some skinnies -- essentially my everyday uniform. However I added some pizzazz with the fun leopard print glasses and loafers. I threw on my favorite Madden Girl taupe purse and there you have it.

Also, is it just me or does anyone else love a good pant roll? I'm short, so I've become somewhat of a pro at a peg-leg. Dang it if I don't love a good peek of ankle. Just me? Alright then...

I hope everyone had a spectacular weekend! XO

Weekly Roundup : Friday Faves #26

It's been a while since I've done a Friday favorites post which is a shame, because I have SO many favorites going on lately but c'est la vie. I am back today for a Friday favorites so that's a start anyway. Here's what I've been loving lately!

I have always loved this scent from Bath and Body Works. It's light, it's fresh and smells a lot like baby powder, and for some reason it totally works for me. My MIL recently bought me the body spray and I have been using it every day since. Its totally making me feel this spring weather we're having lately.

I love this little bhcosmetics Neutral Eyes To Go palette. Do I have a million palettes of shades exactly like this? Yes. Still, this one is super compact and the pigmentation and quality of these shades are beautiful. I've reached for it everyday this week and  I don't intend on stopping anytime soon.

I can't believe I've never put this little lipvgloss stick in a favorites before, because it's a long time favorite that I pull out every time the weather starts warming. It's a gorgeous, sheer orange, smells delicious and just look at that packaging. Seriously, I want the whole range, if only for how cute the little animal face is. It's also super duper hydrating, which my poor lips can really use after our long, cold winter.

I've seen all those ads for those pedi roller files and while I was interested I couldn't bring myself to shell out the money for them when I had a perfectly good file at home, even though I did have to use my own arm strength for it. When I found this one for only $10 I really could not pass up trying it and I'm happy to report it's amazing, wonderful, and does all the things it promises, and I'm pretty sure works just as well as its counterparts which are at least 4 times more expensive. You can find it here.

One of my favorite bloggers ever is Heather over at 100 ways to 30 and I am loving all her posts lately! I cannot get enough of her fun outfits and I love how real she is, she's definitely someone you can relate to. You can find her blog here; I definitely recommend checking it out!

That does it for this weeks favorites...what have you guys been loving lately? Happy weekend! XO

April Goals

It's been a while since I've done a goals post...so long that I know for a fact I forgot about my last goals altogether. Which is awful, but was quite frankly necessary. Life is finally settling down slightly so I definitely want to get back into my monthly goals. This month I'm trying to bring my focus back to my blog. Note the word trying...while I love my blog and it's one of my favorite hobbies, it tends to take a back-burner when my obligations take over my life. Here's what I'm hoping happens for the month of April:

1. To get back to my posting schedule. I used to post 5 times a week and lately I've been lucky to even get one post up. I want to get back to posting 5 days a week which brings me to my second goal...

2. Get more organized with posts. I definitely need to plan in advance for this one. There's always that one blog post that doesn't work out...which sometimes turns into a whole week of blogging that doesn't work out. I definitely want to work on stocking up on blog photos and posts so that I can always have something ready to go. On the whole blog photos front...

3. I need to take control of my blog. I relied on my husband for a long time to help me with my photos and when I was lucky I could even get some edits out of him but life is busy and when I have a free moment he seems to be busy and vice versa. So I'm trying to understand some of these photo editing programs (um, this photo was my first poor attempt, please, please bear with me!) and I also need to invest in a tripod and remote because talking someone into taking 30 to 40 photos of my outfit isn't as easy as it sounds.

I feel like these are some pretty big tasks for the month so I'm going to leave it at 3. What are your goals for the month of April? XO
